da Vinci Robotic Surgery - Colorectal Surgery

The da Vinci System is a state-of-the-art surgical platform with 3D, high-definition vision and patented surgical instruments that takes surgery beyond the limits of the human hand. By overcoming the challenges of traditional open and laparoscopic surgery, da Vinci is changing the experience of surgery for people around the world.

Our group can use the da Vinci Robot for colon resections, rectal resections, and rectopexies. We also use it to remove tumors from the rectum though the anus without having to make any incisions on the abdomen. Dr. Manchio has the most experience doing these procedures, called robotic TAMIS, in the entire State of Oregon and within a 100 miles of Portland extending into Washington State. Dr. Manchio was recently interviewed by FOX 12 Oregon about his expertise in Robotic TAMIS. Click here to watch the interview.

Dr. Browning, Dr. Manchio, and Dr. Cavanaugh are credentialed and experienced in the use of the da Vinci System for the treatment of many colorectal conditions.

CSATS is a national performance management system for evaluating techniques in robotic surgery.  Drs. Browning and Manchio are on top of the national leaderboards for Right colectomy and Low Anterior Resection.  The rankings are crowd sourced and based on expert reviewer scores of their robotic surgical technique.
