Dr. Richard U. Kalu, MD, MPH, is a highly skilled colorectal surgeon who joined Colorectal Health Northwest in 2023. Dr. Kalu graduated from Pennsylvania State College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan. He further honed his skills during a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kalu also holds a master’s degree in public health from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Kalu's specializes in treating inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), colon and rectal issues, incontinence, and pelvic floor diseases. He is skilled in colonoscopy and joins our other providers in offering both minimally invasive surgical and traditional treatment to help manage these conditions.

Dr. Kalu is committed to providing respectful, compassionate, and dignified care based on evidence-based medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in activities such as soccer, running, hiking, and biking.
