    Jeffrey V. Manchio, MD, FACS, FASCRS earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor. He obtained his colon and rectal surgery fellowship training through the Indiana University/Kendrick Colon & Rectal Center. In addition, he received one year of plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic. He returned to Ann Arbor after completing fellowship training to begin his career as a colon and rectal surgeon. In 2015 he and his family moved to Portland, OR to join Colorectal Health NW.

    Dr. Manchio has clinical interest in treating colorectal cancer, anorectal disorders such as hemorrhoids and performing colonoscopy. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including the da Vinci robotic technique and transanal minimally invasive surgery. He has served as the physician lead of the Providence St. Vincent Robotic Surgery Steering Committee since 2016.

    Soon after arriving to Portland, Dr. Manchio helped Providence St. Vincent Medical Center formalize its rectal cancer program. Taking the lead role as Program Director of the rectal cancer program, he helped St. Vincents become one of the first two centers in the Pacific NW, along with Providence Portland, to become a National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) care.

    When not at work Dr. Manchio most enjoys being active with his family including his wife and two children. This includes lots of soccer and basketball games, swim meets, skiing at Timberline and relaxing at Lake Merwin. Any remaining available free time is often spent going to see live music, especially bluegrass, jazz and anything Grateful Dead inspired.
